Roe Deer Hunting in the Pyrenees

Description:

(Male) Shoulder height 25-36 inches (64-92 cm). Weight 44-81 pounds (20-37 kg). Largest animals are found in the eastern part of the species range. Females are about 20 percent smaller than males. 

Habitat: Varied. Usually woodland, especially with clearings or scrub. Also open moors, grasslands and alpine meadows. Found throughout Spain. I hunt them in several hunting areas.

Season: usually goes from July 1st to October 31st, and then from mid April to July 31st. 

Rut: usually goes from September 1st to October 31st, and then from mid April to July 31st. .

European Fallow Deer Hunting in the Pre-Pyrenees

Description: 

(Male) Shoulder height 36-43 inches (91-109 cm). Weight 140-220 pounds (64-100 kg), sometimes more. Females are smaller. Antlers have brow and trez tines (bez tines are usually absent), and are well-palmated at the top, with a number of tines coming off the rear edge of the palmation. 

Habitat: Open woodland. Found throughout Spain. I hunt them in several hunting estates and game reserves.

Season: usually goes from October 12th to February 8th.

Rut: usually the first 2nd and 3rd week of October. 

Difficulty: medium.

Method: Spot and stalk, from blinds/stands/hides.
